I strive to find a balance between quality, cost and comfort in all things. That also means I've learned how to "upcycle" my most-loved wardrobe items from college, giving them new life as I've started my own.Read More

This faux choker top is remiscient of the babydoll look — a style that filled my preteen closet to the brim. This is a more sophisticated take on the 1960s-esque, flower child flowy blouse. You can't tell by looking at it, but this top is so soft. I would legitimately sleep in this thing. The choker top buttons in the back so that you can pull it over your head easily to put it on. But — and this is an important but — that closure doesn't rub or irritate your neck as you wear it. I can't stand itchy tags, so that's a blessing in my book. A pair of slightly distressed black jeans would make a great complement to this top.
I never considered myself a "crop top" kind of girl, but this one is really making me rethink it. It's off-the-shoulder on one side and long-sleeved on the other, which I don't think I've ever seen before. It's a unique look, but it truly balances itself out. I also love that it allows you to show just enough collarbone — It's not quite a tube top, but it also deviates enough from the "norm" of crop tops that I'm sure it will turn a few heads. I would definitely wear this out for dinner, with either a pair of high-rise shorts or jeans.
It's not a secret that I'm obsessed with blazers. A girl can never own enough of them, especially of the black variety. I tend to stock up on heavier ones made of thicker material, though, which has left me lacking a breezy alternative on more than one occasion. This blazer checks everything on my list — It's lightweight yet cozy enough to keep you warm in a chilly office (like the one I work in). It also has these really cool zipper details on both sides, which gives it a moto-jacket feel. I would balance it out with a pair of jeans and classic ankle boots.
Just like I never thought of myself as crop top fan, I also never thought I'd be a fan of rompers — mostly because my proportions make it hard to find one that fits right. I was pleasantly surprised by this little black number, though, and I lounge around in it all the time. The straps don't slip off my shoulders (praise the heavens), it cinches my waist just right, and its short enough to be breezy without showing too much skin. That criteria has become increasingly important to me as I've gone through my early 20s, since it's tough to find clothes that strike a balance between modest, mature and cute. It's the perfect Sunday funday outfit — Just add some funky sandals and you're good to go for a day on the town.
